How many people from Nitish Kumar and Naidu's party are involved?

The BJP needs allies to form a third government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Hence, all eyes were on how many leaders from the party of Nitishkumar and Chandrababu Naidu get a place in the cabinet.

NDA's ally HD Kumaraswamy of JDS has been made a cabinet-level minister. Hindustani Awam Morcha president Jitanram Manjhi has also become a cabinet minister.

Nitish Kumar's party Janata Dal (United) has a total of 12 MPs. JDU leader Rajivaranjan Singh (Lallansingh) has also taken oath as a cabinet minister. Chandrababu Naidu's party Telugu Desam Party has elected 16 Members of Parliament. TDP's K. Rammohan Naidu has been made a cabinet-level minister.

Liaison with Collaborating Parties

In the Lok Sabha elections, NDA got 293 seats, but BJP got 240 seats. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu and JDU chief Nitish Kumar are now key allies in the NDA and it is being said that both will play an important role.

Earlier in 2019, Chandrababu Naidu broke away from the NDA over the demand for special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also been demanding special status for the state for a long time. The JDU may also demand caste-based enumeration at the national level. Both parties may also assert their demands in this government even more, though both say they are unconditionally supporting the Modi 3.0 government.

But senior JDU leader KC Tyagi has demanded a reconsideration of the Agniveer scheme, which Chirag Paswan has also backed. In these circumstances, the government formed with the support of the allies and their inclusion in the cabinet will be watching how the government works.
