The chief minister of Odisha and Delhi has reacted after a comment made by BJP leader and BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Puri, Sambit Patra.
A video of Sambit Patra went viral on Monday, in which he is calling 'Lord Jagannath a devotee of PM Modi' in Odisha language. However, after the criticism, Sambit Patra has accepted his mistake and apologized.
On Sambit Patra's statement, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, "Calling Mahaprabhu a devotee of another man is an insult to God. It has hurt the sentiments of millions of Jagannath devotees around the world and the people of Odisha. God is the biggest symbol of Odia Asmita. Calling Mahaprabhu a devotee of a man is reprehensible."
He posted on X that "I strongly condemn the statement made by BJP's Puri Lok Sabha candidate and appeal to BJP to restrain God from making any political statement. By doing this you have hurt Odia Asmita and the people of Odisha will remember it for a long time."
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took responsibility for Naveen Patnaik's tweet and wrote that "I condemn this statement of BJP. They have started thinking that they are above God. This is the height of ego. Calling God a devotee of Modi is an insult to God."
Meanwhile, BJP leader Sambit Patra released a video message saying that he had made a mistake. He has mistakenly said so. He will fast for the next three days to correct this mistake.

The Aam Aadmi Party also says that a case related to corruption has been registered against Swati Maliwal and because of this she has become the face of BJP's conspiracy.
Swati Maliwal has now responded to these allegations.
He wrote on X that "Since yesterday, the Delhi Minister has been spreading lies that an FIR of corruption has been lodged against me, so I have done all this at the behest of BJP."
"This FIR was filed eight years ago in 2016, after which I was appointed Chairperson of Mahila Aayog twice by both CM and LG. The case is completely bogus, which has been stayed by the Hon'ble High Court, which has held that there was no transaction of money."
