After Karpuri Thakur, LK Advani, the Modi government appointed former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh and the father of India's green revolution, agricultural scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan was announced to be awarded 'Bharat Ratna'. 'Bharat Ratna' is the highest civilian honor of the country.

Chaudhary Charan Singh was the sixth Prime Minister of the country. But his tenure was very short. On July 28, 1979, he had to step down just 170 days after taking oath as the Prime Minister. Because they could not prove the majority of their government in the House.

Chaudhary Charan Singh was a big farmer leader. In 1977, his party played a major role in forming the Janata Party government under the leadership of Morarji Desai.

Has Narendra Modi attempted to use the 'Bharat Ratna' to tip the election in his favour?

P. V. Narasimha Rao was the 10th Prime Minister of the country. Narasimha Rao, who was the Prime Minister from June 21, 1991 to May 16, 1996, opened the Indian economy to the world. He brought about major economic reforms in India. He was also the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the Home Minister of the country.Dr. M. S Swaminathan is considered the father of 'Green Revolution' in India. He revolutionized Indian agriculture in the 1960s and 1970s. He played an important role in achieving the goal of food security.

P. V. Reason behind giving 'Bharat Ratna' to Narasimha Rao

There is talk that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to balance the election by awarding such a large number of 'Bharat Ratna'.

Senior journalist and political analyst Neelanjan Mukhopadhyay says, "The Prime Minister's plan is purely election oriented. As the elections neared, he remembered Karpuri Thakur. Advani, who was not allowed to attend the Ram temple ceremony, was given 'Bharat Ratna.' I wanted to end the differences with the family."

Narendra Modi has recently made a statement on 'dynasticism' and tried to call Congress a party of dynasticism. According to analysts, by awarding Bharat Ratna to Narasimha Rao, Modi wants to show that only dynasticism works in Congress. BJP wants to show that Narasimha Rao was a capable Prime Minister, but Sonia Gandhi insulted him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and appreciated the contribution of all these three.

Karpuri Thakur, LK Advani, P. V. It is said that there is an attempt to settle the political calculus by giving India's highest civilian honor to Narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh.Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay says, "This is an old trick of the BJP. They see Narasimha Rao as the most capable PM after the Bharatiya Janata Party prime minister. That is why the BJP is now honoring him. This is to show that the Congress has insulted him only because of dynasticism. Otherwise, he is capable." was the Prime Minister."

Neelanjan says that the Prime Minister is saying that this time we will elect more than 400 seats. But despite Ram temple, rise of casteism, spread of welfare schemes and huge publicity, they have to rely on 'Bharat Ratna' to please various communities.

BJP is now trying to form alliances with smaller parties. From this it seems that they are afraid of getting hit in the elections. Perhaps that is why this roundup is being done.

Trying to solve the election equation

Some analysts believe that the Modi government is using the Bharat Ratna as an 'election tool'.

Article 18 (1) of the Constitution provides for award of Bharat Ratna. This honor has been given since 1954. And as a rule only three awards are given in a year.

But this time Modi government has announced to give Bharat Ratna to five people of the country. Earlier in 1999, this award was given to four people at the same time.

Senior journalist Hemant Atri says, "This is not a 'Bharat Ratna' but an 'Election Ratna'. This is an attempt to solve the electoral equation. Nitish Kumar's government collapsed after Karpoori Thakur was announced Bharat Ratna. Similarly, after the announcement for Chaudhary Charan Singh. RLD's Jayant Chaudhary hinted at an alliance with the BJP."Hemant Atri says, "As soon as Chaudhary Charan Singh's Bharat Ratna was announced, his grandson and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary said what more is needed. It is now clear that he will go to NDA. They have also discussed seat allocation. How many Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha seats will RLD get? It has also been decided how many ministers his party will have in Uttar Pradesh."

But why did Narendra Modi announce 'Bharat Ratna' to senior farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh before the elections?

Is the BJP afraid of losing the Jat votes in the western belt of Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections to be held in two months?

Answering this question, Hemant Atri says, "Farmers sat outside Delhi for 13 months with their demands. But their demands were not met. But now they are playing symbolic politics by announcing 'Bharat Ratna' to Chaudhary Charan Singh and MS Swaminathan. He says that , who were the biggest well-wishers of farmers, our government has conferred the country's highest civilian honour. What more could farmers want?"

Devinder Sharma, an expert on agriculture policy and related matters, is also of the opinion that the RLD has planned a strategy of giving 'Bharat Ratna' to Chaudhary Charan Singh to join the NDA.

He says that M. S. Swaminathan is known for the 'Green Revolution' and Varghese Kurien for the 'White Revolution'. But not giving minimum basic price to the farmers based on the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission but declaring the same Swaminathan as 'Bharat Ratna' is in a way symbolic politics.

Why try to form an alliance with RLD in Uttar Pradesh?

According to some analysts, a large number of Jats left the Rashtriya Lok Dal and joined the BJP after the 2013 Jat-versus-Muslim riots in Muzaffarnagar. They forgot their caste identity and became Hindus.

Western Uttar Pradesh has a large number of Jats and Muslims. There are total 27 Lok Sabha seats here and BJP won 19 seats in 2019 elections. Why does BJP want to ally with RLD here despite having such a strong position?

Senior journalist and political analyst Sharad Gupta says, "The Modi government has not made any attractive announcements in the budget this time. It has neither given tax concessions to the middle class nor increased the Kisan Samman Fund. This means that the Modi government is fully confident of winning the elections. Still, the Modi-Shah duo just "We don't want victory, we want a resounding victory. That is, where their seats are being elected by a margin of 4000 each, they want to win the same seats by a margin of 50 thousand."

Sharad Gupta says BJP is forging alliances with smaller parties like RLD, Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) for its resounding victory. Although these parties cannot win the elections on their own, their votes increase the strength of the BJP many times. BJP wants to get two and two and make twenty two.

So to attract which section of voters has BJP announced Bharat Ratna to former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao?

Sharad Gupta says, "Through this, the Prime Minister wants to draw attention to the alleged dynasticism of the Congress. They want to show that the BJP has honored the Prime Minister whose body was not allowed to be brought to the Congress office. There is nothing to be surprised about if the BJP announces to give the Bharat Ratna to Manmohan Singh as well."
